How to burn fat fast?

I’m on a very low fat and low calorie diet, and have been losing weight. The problem is I’m too desperate. Janet Jackson lost almost 60 pounds in 3 months and had six pack abs….Is that possible and how many hours a day do I have to work out to accomplish that?

Losing fat requires three things: Diet, Weight Lifting, Cardio

Diet: More Protein–I do 1gram per bodyweight, More Lean Meats (Ham, Turkey, Chicken, Fish), More Vegetables for Carbs (I usually eat raw carrots, cucumbers, salads, etc), Fruit. I also take supplements for Omega 3’s and often consume or drink Grean Tea. Increase your meals so you don’t get hungry, decrease the size of your meals, and place the meals 2-3 hours apart. Lastly, drink lots of water… I drink about 5-6 bottles a day. I’m often nutrient-concious when I’m serious about diet, checking the sodium, cholestrol, calories, carbohydrates, etc… it’s really up to you.

Weight Lifting: I guess this is all up to you… some people prefer to do certain body parts on each day, while others do full body workouts a few times a week. I personally have a bicep-tricep+abs day, upperback +abs day, chest +abs day, shoulders day, and lower body day. Different body types will require you to work harder on certain parts of your body.

Cardio: I would do cardio in the morning–right when you wake up and haven’t consumed anything yet. This insures that the only thing burning is fat. I think 3-4 times a week at 30+ mins would be good.

Around last June I was about 220lbs, and at the end of summer around mid September I was 175lbs. My goal wasn’t so much to lose weight… it was to lose fat while retaining my muscle mass. It works and it works fast, if you eat the right things and do the the right workouts. However, this was time consuming and I spent morning and nights at the gyms (workout in the morning, cardio at night).

I’m not sure if 60 lbs in 3 months is even possible, but I am sure that it isn’t healthy. A healthy goal to shoot for is 1-2 pounds per week. Why are you "too desperate"? You didn’t gain this weight over night and you can’t expect to lose it over night either. Work on losing it slowly and keeping it off, so you don’t ever have to lose it again! Best of luck!

Janet Jackson hired a personal trainer and worked out all day, every day. When you’re a famous entertainer, you can do that sort of thing. If you’re a normal person, you can’t work out all day because we have to go to our jobs/school/etc. And most us can’t afford a personal trainer to drag us out of bed to work out.

Don’t beat yourself up for not having access to the same resources celebrities have. Focus on losing weight in a healthy way, because extreme dieting just results in yo-yo dieting.

Good luck and be proud of what you’ve accomplished so far.
